Yesterday was a fairly dull and dreary day - very overcast with fine misty rain on and off .. at 7.45pm last night it was raining but at 12.30am this morning it was so loud you couldn't hear a thing !
This morning I asked phyliss how much rain and I think she said either 1 1/2 inches or 1 1/4 inches .. apparently there is good rain yet to come .. god I hope it fills our dams !
Long range weather forecaster Hayden Walker has predicted the following:
Wet summer ahead for SE Qld, forecaster saysWednesday November 5, 2008 - 12:34 EDT
A forecaster is predicting flooding in December and maybe a cyclone off the Qld coast early next year.
A long-range weather forecaster is predicting a wet summer with plenty of rain to fill south-east Queensland dams.Hayden Walker predicted Cyclone Larry in 2006 and says his forecasts are based on solar flares and sunspot activity.
He is predicting there will be flooding in December."It looks like it's going to be an excessive summer season - starting off with good storm activity for November for the Sunshine Coast and that will also extend through on the Queensland coastline and out into the interior areas, so looks [like a] pretty healthy start for November," he said. "Extending into December, we've got good to heavy falls and probably localised flooding at the same time."
He also says there could be a cyclone off the Queensland coast early next year."I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a cyclone wander down this way during January and possibly March," he said.
"In the Sunshine Coast area, we're looking at maybe up to 200 millimetres in December and more - maybe 300 or 400 millimetres in January - so it's a lot of aqua, flooding, will fill the dams ... so a collossal amount of rainfall I'm predicting."
