This is Pepper - he/she is 1 week 4 days old .. his/her colourings will be WHITE .. he/she doesn't have any other colour than white .... will be interesting to see her full colour in a few weeks time !

This is Peanut at 2 weeks old - so ugly yet so cute at the same time .. Her colour will be yellow ....

Tiny - my beautiful baby bird ...

Yesterday I had to bring Tiny (6 day old cockatiel) inside because the seed that wally feed him - he couldn't digest ..... in the early hours of this morning at 12.30am .. my beautiful little bubba took his last breath and died in my hands ..

I am doing ok - I did all I could for him .. feeding him every 2 hours 24 hours after he hatched .... he was a battler and didn't give up until he just couldn't go on ....

STORMS - again !

This radar image was taken at 6.22pm tonight .. as you can see we're in for another hell of a night - here's hoping we don't see 200+mm's like last night - altho by the looks of this radar - it could very well be on the cards !

OMG we had 4 inches of rain in 1 hour !

I tried and tried to stay awake - but it was useless - my main worry was that the storms would be like what hit brisbane's north on sunday - they were building and building and had very very heavy rain in them .. by about 10.30pm i think i just fell asleep ..

11.30pm woke up to a roaring sound and i mean roaring sound .. I got up and couldn't even see the street .. it was like someone had put a white sheet over our bedroom window .. the wind was blowing .. but it was the rain .. it was deafening ..

This morning I raced down stairs to see just how much we did get - and I almost fell over when Phyliss said "4" YES 4 inches .. I couldn't believe it .. Lucky duck was happily swimming from Peter's shed right over to the chook pen .. I then checked the birds and seen my poor piggies ! .. they were sitting on their little houses - they were flooded !!! .. OMG .. they were drenched the poor little mites .. to be honest I don't know how they didn't drown .. I have now shifted them and put them in higher cages off the ground - learnt my lesson there !

It's very warm this morning - and muggy too .. we're in for more tonight .. just how much more can we take ?

9.14pm - Severe storms on the way !

I hate storms at the best of times - but in the dark it's worse .. you can't see which direction they are coming from, what the cloud is doing etc .. It has done nothing but rain, rain and more RAIN in Brisbane since the devestating storm on Sunday .. there has probably been about 2 hours where it didn't rain all day .. atm if feels like the middle of winter and very cold .. everything is drenched and the tank is full ..

Wow ! .. what a difference a feature wall makes !

After working all day on painting the feature wall in our bedroom - Peter started the final criss-cross coat around 4pm and finished just after 5.30pm .. it seemed to take forever .. but the finished product is just amazing .. it's just how i pictured it ! .. I am so thrilled and happy that I'm now looking at painting a Teal suede feature wall in our lounge room ..

We used Taubmans Easy Coat Suede from Bunnings - 4ltrs $ 57.00 - the colour is called "Dynamite" ..

Wild night of storms over ...

OMG there is devestation everywhere from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and right up to Caboolture .. over 140,000 homes and business are still without power this morning .. this is incredible ! .. A young boy drowned in storm water drains at Chermside after he was swept off his feet while taking storm pictures .. very tragic - yet I wonder where their brains were ????

I didn't get any more radar images as we had to turn the modem and computer's off - I was keeping an eye on it on my iPhone and OMG I've never seen a storm cell like it .. it was HUGE ! .. thank goodness it split in 2 and went around us .. all we got was rain, thunder and lightening .. 28-29mls .. 1 minute the sun was shining the next minute it was as black as ...

A tree trunk went through my bedroom roof and destroyed most of my furniture, including my iphone, tv, playstation and bed. Loungeroom and bottom story had water about 10 cm high. Sucks :(

We certainly got hit as well! power out, trees all over the place - even the thick ones couldnt stand up to the wind (snapped clean in half).
Feel sorry for our local woolies too - i think their doors fell off! We have flooding and trees blocking several roads. Love to know how im gonna get to Wacol tomorrow!

Ferny grove looks like a bomb has gone off. Massive trees have been torn in half like they are no more than the width of paper. Lots of houses have damage and missing roof tiles.I have never seen anything like it, it was a fearce storm. It soundedlike a cyclone.

We had someones outdoor furniture smash through our living room window, now there is glass spread through out the house as well as lot's of water damage. Something has also been blown into our roof damaging the ridge capping and ripping about 30 tiles loose and damaging the tv antenna.

Painting a feature wall in our bedroom

Well here we are ! .. I decided weeks and weeks ago to paint a suede feature wall in our bedroom .. as you can see I tried 2 different colours - I picked the top one because it goes perfectly with our bedspread .. I can't wait till it's all finished !

WTF is going on with my body ????

OK so more AF pains and brown spotting today .. just like yesterday it's GONE ! .. totally ! .. as if I had no pain or spotting at all ..

I'm going to go see our FS this week and get some BT's done .. this is ridiculous !

To our joy this morning another baby has hatched and has also been feed !!! ..

We just can't believe it .. anyway here's a picture of Peanut with her little brother or sister - it's not a good picture - but i didn't want to disturb them too much ..

Peanut has pink/clear eyes while Bub #2 (yet to be named) has black eyes ... there are 2 remaining egg's .. so far it's looking good for them all to hatch ! .. it's such ashame we lost the 1st 2 :( ...

hmmmm now this is ODD !!!

OK woke up this morning with AF like pains - then i began spotting about mid-morning .. here it is 6pm and all pains, spotting etc are GONE ! ... this is very odd for me cause usually once I start spotting that's it .. I will just continually spot - and as for the pain - that's odd too cause if AF is on her way once the pain starts it doesn't stop until she's gone ..

Even last AF on the pill - I had dreadful pain from day 1 right to the end .. so it beats me .. I'm sick of 2nd guessing this stupid body of mine ..

I can't seem to stop peeing or drinking for that matter - but then again it is HOT up here atm .. i'm waking through the night for the loo - which isn't me at all .. i normally sleep right through .. I'm so tired that I seem to be cat napping all day .. my boobs are sore - BUT this could all be due to AF being due - I guess ?

Wouldn't it be lovely if god said "ok they've been through enough let's give them a christmas miracle" ..... we can only keep wishing, hoping and praying ..................................

Peanuts 1st video !

Here is our beautiful little bubba - while checking on her we discovered that another egg is hatching as you can hear the bubba inside ... it's all so exciting now that mum and dad know what they are doing .. If you watch closely you can see Sook Sook give Peanut a quick feed - and I mean quick .. she had so much in her crop i don't know where she's fitting it all .. lol ..

well i guess i spoke too soon ... i'm spotting again .. it will be because i missed a few pills about 2 weeks ago .. oh well such is life .. wonder what's on foxtel today .. hope there's something good !

I watched "Lovewrecked" yesterday - quite a good movie actually really enjoyed it .. Hope and Faith is on atm .. they are funny those 2 .. lol ..

My sore eye :(

Tuesday night I had a dream that I had a sore eye .. woke up on Wednesday morning and had a dreadfully sore eye .. I took 6 pain killers in all yesterday and slept most of the day on the recliner with foxtel .. lol .. this morning it's a little bit better .. but still very sore and red :(

This isn't a very good picture - but it does show how RED my right eye is compared to my LEFT eye ...

What is up with my stupid body ???

OK I'll admit i've been a bad girl and forgotten to take the pill a few weeks back .. actually it was twice in 1 week .. lol .. but the likelyhood of anything happen is remote ! ..

Anyway the other day i had some spotting and put it down to because i'd forgotten the pill .. the next day it was gone and it hasn't been back .. now this morning i've got AF like cramps and pains - but NO AF ? .. not even a spot or a smudge .. lol .. no pink, no brown NOTHING ! ..

I did test yesterday - BFN .. so god only know's what's going on in this stupid body of mine ..

Introducing "Peanut"

I hurried down to the bird avairy this morning to check on our little bubba - and she was doing fine .. sitting up and swaying side to side .. mum was in a hurry to get her back under and warm .. so we quickly put the lid back on and left them ..

I decided to name her "Peanut" .. because she's so small and tiny .. I hope the other 3 egg's hatch out as well .. but if not, then we're blessed to have Peanut ...

I will post some more pics in a few days when she's a bit bigger and stronger ...

Here are the very 1st pic's of our beautiful little bubba .. he's so small and tiny .. mum and dad are really doing a G R E A T job this time .. Phyliss and I have checked him several times today and each time there has been more and more in his craw (i think that's how you spell it) .. he is sitting up and moving alot - and mum wants to keep him undercover ..

it's sad that we lost the other 2 babies ... but there are still 3 egg's to go - so hopefully we'll get some more bubba's in the coming days .. I am planning on taking him or them out at approx 2 weeks of age and hand rearing them ! ..

After a disasterous attempt at their first clutch of egg's - which resulted in 2 babies who died within days .. Wally and Sook Sook laid another 6 eggs - yesterday we discovered 2 dead babies and 1 who had newly hatched .. on top of that they were covered in BIRD LICE/MITE .. so all afternoon I cleaned and sprayed them ..

I checked on the bubba this morning and Sook Sook was actually sitting on him with the other 3 eggs that are yet to hatch .. bubba was sitting up and looked as tho he had been fed - which is a great effort on mum and dad's part - considering last time they didn't feed them or keep them warm .. so hopefully this time they are off to a good start !!

This project really is my pride and joy ! .. I can't believe that I finally a BBQ deck and entertainment area .. wooo hoooo !!!! .. we've had back patio's etc .. but nothing like this .. and when you compare what we have now to what it looked like when we first moved in 18 months ago - I am really proud of our hard work !



This is our new BBQ setting that we got - the one we really wanted had a price increase up to $ 270 ... this beautiful timber one was only $ 199 !

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas !!!!!

Christmas is approaching fast ! .. here we are already into the 2nd week of November .. where has the year gone ????

Nanna, Phyliss and I went to Sam's warehouse yesterday and brought some decorations for the BBQ area ..

The Bali Bombers - finally it's over !

On the 12th October 2002 the Sari Club and Paddy's Night Club were full of people - celebrating, partying, talking, drinking, dancing, having fun .. without warning suicide bombers let off several bombs - and devestated the whole area ..

3 men were eventually charged with organising the attacks which killed 88 Australians and 114 people from different nationalities .. this morning at 12.15am justice was FINALLY carried out and they were excuted via a firing squad ..

I have NO sympathy for these men - did they deserve the DEATH penalty ? .. BLOODY oath they did .. they sentenced 202 people to death without giving it a 2nd thought .. they believed that 77 virgins would be waiting for them .. HA ! .. I think more like the devil's men would have been waiting to drag those BASTARDS down into hell !

It's been another busy busy week here ! .. We've almost finished the BBQ deck - and now there's a beautiful gazebo there also ! .. Phyliss has been a great help to me - without her help I wouldn't have been able to do so much ..

The Bali Bombers - D DAY !!!

According to sources on the net this morning - it's D-DAY for the Bali Bombers ..

What I can't get over is the health checks that they have carried out on the 3 of them .. WTF ? IMHO - these 3 guys deserve everything they get - but shooting them is too quick and too easy ..

they need to be put into a building - let them party, drink, eat, talk ...... then when they least expect it .. BLOW IT UP !!! Let them suffer the pain of the burns, and the loss of limbs .. let their families suffer like the many hundred's that suffered after the attacks ..

I have NO sympthay what so ever for these TERRORISTS ..

I hope and pray that the victims and their families can move on .. and I hope and pray that we NEVER see anything like this happen again ..

Summer rain predicted to fill SEQ dams

A long-range weather forecaster is predicting a wet summer with plenty of rain to fill south-east Queensland dams.Haydon Walker correctly predicted Cyclone Larry in 2006 and says his forecasts are based on solar flares and sunspot activity.

He is predicting a cyclone will form off the Queensland coast in January or March next year and flooding in south-east Queensland in December."It looks like it's going to be an excessive summer season starting off with good storm activity for November for the Sunshine Coast and that will also extend through on the Queensland coastline and out into the interior areas - so looks pretty healthy start for November - and then extending into December, we've got good to heavy falls and probably localised flooding at the same time.

"I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a cyclone wander down this way during January and possibly March and in the Sunshine Coast area, we're looking at maybe up to 200 millimetres in December and more - maybe 300 or 400 mm in January - so it's a lot of aqua, flooding, will fill the dams .. so a collossal amount of rainfall I'm predicting," he said.

OMG it poured and poured !

Yesterday was a fairly dull and dreary day - very overcast with fine misty rain on and off .. at 7.45pm last night it was raining but at 12.30am this morning it was so loud you couldn't hear a thing !

This morning I asked phyliss how much rain and I think she said either 1 1/2 inches or 1 1/4 inches .. apparently there is good rain yet to come .. god I hope it fills our dams !

Today is a day when like the sudden and tragic death of Diana Princess of Wales - we will remember what we were doing and where we were ..

Melbourne Cup - BAH HUM BUG !

Well the only day I put money on the horses .. and all I win is a big $ 16 ! .. I suppose it's better than nothing - my nanna picked up $ 111.60 in winnings and phyliss $ 13.20 .. Peter picked up $ 3 in the sweeps at work ..

It really is a gamble isn't it ? .. I knew I should have backed a cummings horse - i bloody well knew it .. lol .. oh well such is life !

New deck, tropical garden & water feature !

We finally finished putting the decking down yesterday - and gave it it's first coat of Natural Oil .. and I have to say it looks STUNNING ! .. we haven't finished yet - got the trims on the edges to do, the steps etc .. but when we are finished - WOW WOW WOW !!! ..

I can't wait to sit up there and have a Vodka Cruiser and relax ...
