Day 3 of renovations ...

OK so the weekend didn't go to well ..

Saturday they showed up - well at least 1 guy did and finished pulling the tiles up under the stove .. then he brought all this equipment inside and said "i'm finished bye" .. this guy could hardly understand a word I said when i asked him to close the gate on his way out .. he said "we back tomorrow" ..

Sunday arrives by 9am I said they aren't coming so I rang their boss - it was their day off and they'd be back Monday ..

Well here's Monday - 8.32am and their not here yet ! .. it's getting really frustrating - we've been living in a pig sty now for 2 weeks and I can't stand it !

2 guys come - a few hours later 1 guy will leave and not come back - the guy who can hardly talk or understand english left the other day and it took him over 2 hours to come back .. turns out he took the wrong exit and was heading down the gold coast .. I couldn't help but laugh ..

We fixed up some holes in the walls from old photo's etc - painted over the top and wouldn't ya know it - DIFFERENT bloody colour ! .. so now I have to go to the paint shop and buy a 1 litre to fix up the mess we've made of the walls ..

I tell ya DON'T EVER DO RENOVATIONS !! .. lol ..

Never laughed so much ..

Well we headed out for our night out at the Playhouse to see the Umbilical Brothers on saturday night and OMG i've never laughed so much in all my laugh .. they are total classics and fantastic to watch ... it was worth every penny to see them .. so if you get the chance - don't pass it up !

The Umblical Brothers - LIVE !

Tonight Peter and I are off to see the Umbilical Brother's at QPAC in Brisbane .. our seats are D28 and D29 - on the balcony .. can't wait to get all dressed up and have a good night out .. last time we were really dressed up was our wedding day back in 2005 .. lol ..

Will let you all know what it was like ...........

Day 2 - levelling the floor

Morning all !

Well yesterday was a BIG BIG DAY ! .. they pulled up all the tiles in the dining/kitchen/hallway areas - and what a FUCKING MESS !!!!!!!! .. there is a fine white dust everywhere .. before the furniture goes back in we need to wipe all the walls throughout the house and dust and polish the lot !

I have added some pictures so far to our Photo Albums - Renovations June 08 - password is renovations0608 .. I will post more pictures once we are able to find the charger for the camera .. lol .. we can't find a bloody thing in here ... lol ...

They showed up before 8am to drop off the electical stuff to get the levelling done and he left again to pick up his mate .. We were still in our jammies when they arrived .. lol .. and all hell broke out .. lol ..

Anyway so now we sit and wait for them to come back ....

Well the guys arrived nice and early this morning to start pulling up the tiles in the kitchen/dining and hallway .. atm there's only 1 guy here - and the noise of the banging etc of getting the tiles up is almost deafening ....

The timber flooring should be here soon ... god I can't wait to get back to a normal house !

Photo's coming soon .................

Been awhile .......

Hello !!!!

Yes I'm back ! .. after what seems to be an eternity .. well last post was the 9th June 08 - how slack am I ??? today is the 26th June 08 ..

So what's been happening your asking ???? .. hmmmmmm do you really wanna know ? .. lol .. ok here goes ....

We decided the 1st week of Peter's to get timber flooring done in the lounge, dining, kitchen and hallway - so off to a few places wet set .. Decided on going with (I won't name the place as it didn't turn out as planned) a company not far from home .. we were all set 1 week ago tomorrow (Friday) but when the guy arrived he took 1 look at our timber flooring and said "I'm sorry I can't put floating timber over this it's way too bad you will need to ring professional floor levellers" ..

He left us with some numbers and off he went on his merry little way (can you tell I'm being sarcastic ??? .. lol ) .. I rang a few numbers and 2 guys were supposed to come out .. $ 2,700 was 1 quote just to level the floor !!!!!!!!!!!!!! .. the floating floor was $ 3,800 so a grand total of $ 6,500 for engineered timber flooring ..

I burst into tears - our house was empty all the furniture was on the back verandah - we had undercut our plaster walls for the timber flooring to slide under .. all a waste of time .. that was UNTIL ................................

I logged on and found www.candgtimber.com.au (I think that's their addy) 100% natural SOLID, REAL timber flooring .. they level our floor also $ 6,600 ... hmmmmmm $ 100 more than the original company we decided on - so we chose C and G Timber Flooring ! .. so the new floor goes down tomorrow and will take approx 4-5 days to level, lay and finish ..

We also needed a plasterer and tiler to re-do the kitchen splash back - I had someone who was supposed to come last Saturday .. i rang him all day to check and see what time he would be here - NO ANSWER every time I called ..

Yes I know your thinking boy do you have bad luck - YEP WE DO ! .. so anyway by 4.30 the guy hadn't shown up - the kitchen splash back was almost demolished as we got it half ready for this guy .. when i did get hold of him he says "i've ran into complications with another job - so i won't be coming today or tomorrow" .. to which i said "ok so basically your telling me in a nice way your not coming at all and that we should find someone else" and he came back with "yep, that would be good thanks" .. so I hung up on him !

Once again in tear's .. we decided that the people who are doing the flooring also do plaster and tiling - well they came yesterday $ 550 and I've got a beautiful new kitchen splash back .. atm our house is still a pig sty cause we've had to completely empty the area's that are having timber put down ..

Once it's all over and settled I will post pic's and video's of our work .. it's alot of money but in the long run in about 10 -15 years time we should get well over $ 500,000 for this house - the next thing on the list to get done is the bathroom remodelled .. which hopefully will get done next year some time ....

Other than that - that's what we've been up to ..................... any news from you :)

Good evening world .......

Well another day has ended .. it's 6.00pm and we're exhausted ! ... it's rained again most of the night .. yayyyyyyyy that means the water i used last week from the rain water tank has been replenished slightly after using the Karcher high pressure water cleaner ..

So what was on the agenda for today .....

we were going to go to bunnings to pick up a few supplies .. lol .. but then again today is a PUBLIC HOLIDAY and it's probably not open .. so I'll wait until tomorrow ..

well it's poured on and off all day today - so the chookie/duck gate didn't get finished .. oh well there's always tomorrow ..

I baked a Carrot and Walnut cake for Peter this afternoon - he thinks all his christmas's have come at once as I don't cook things like that .. lol ..

Being a public holiday today and we worked like trojans in the front shed cleaning it out .. the trailer is overflowing .. so we're having KFC for dinner tonight .. we shouted nanna and phyliss also ..

Wonder who will get nominated tonight in BB08 ?? .. Who will Nobbi SAVE ? ....

Anyway it's dinner time .... night night all ...................

What a busy busy week ..................

Hi ya everyone !

What a busy busy week we've just had .. I can't believe how quickly the days are going by ..

We finally got the roof on the Guinea Pig house - they have been living in the BBQ area down stairs because their roof sprung a leak during the rain we received last week .. 93mm's in fact .. so off to BUNNINGS for new roofing iron etc and we finally finished it today .. yayyyyyyyy .. Brinkley and Athena are doing extremely well .. altho tonight while cutting up there fresh fruit and vegies I cut right into my finger .. so I have a HUGE V cut in the middle of my finger next to the thumb ..

The building down stairs is also going well .. Phyliss has done a fantastic job - she's done most of it on her own .. I've helped where I could .. all we need to do now is put on the fibro .. she's hung the screen door .. can't wait to see what it looks like all finished ..

The chookies and lucky duck also have a new home - a lovely small 1.5 x 1.5 x 2.06m garden shed .. tonight is their first night in there ..

The chookies and lucky duck are also in the process of getting a new gate into the pen compliments of Peter .. the posts are cemented in and the gate is there .. all we need to do is put the hinges on tomorow and swing the gate and put the netting back ..

A trip to the doctor earlier this week confirmed TENNIS ELBOW .. omg I've never experienced such pain in all my life .. I could hardly move my poor elbow for days ..

Being BB08 fans we purchased some online tickets last night 2 x silver tickets for $ 35 .. they are normally $ 35 each .. so poor Peter is really worried that I'm going to YELL or SCREAM something out and embarrass him .. he know's what I'm like .. lol ..

Peter and I took some time out this week and went to the MOVIES !!!!!!!!!! .. yayyyyyyyyyyyy

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Enjoyed every single moment .. it was everything I thought it would be and well worth the wait .. Harrison Ford hasn't really aged that much but Karen Allen - omg I couldn't believe how old she looked compared to Raiders of the Lost Arc .. in fact I actually said to Peter that she looked older than Harrison ..

Iron Man

Great movie - the effects etc were brilliant

National Lampoons Gold Diggers - DVD

LMFAO - really that's all I can - top movie good for a laugh

Perfect Stranger - Foxtel on demand

Good thriller - excellent plot - well worth the watch

FS appointment ...

all went well today at our post operation appointment with our FS .. we discussed a few things and made the decision to take a 3 month break .. during this time I will try and lose some weight and stay on the pill .. when I'm ready we'll do what she called a BOOST cycle ..

she showed us pictures from my lap/hyst - and OMG I've got lumps of YELLOW FAT everywhere .. lol .. my ovaries are HUGE and I mean HUGE .. they are approx the size of an orange where as they should be the size of maybe a large strawberry (but round of course) .. Julie said she was shocked when she seen the size of my ovaries ..

We will start on 100iu and try and get 3-4 eggs each time .. as Julie said it's not the quantity but the QUALITY of the eggs that count .. we will use ICSI (as per normal for us) and take the embies to blastocyst (day 5/6) .. so that means if we only get 3-4 eggs there is NO guarantee that any of them will make it to transfer .. and there may not be any left to freeze .. which means another full fresh stimulated cycle ..

In regards to my LEFT ovary sitting so high and EPU I will be taken to actual surgery and have LAP surgery to remove the eggs .. I was kinda a little worried that that's how she would do it .. but if it's the only way, then that's the only way ..

The left ovary is sitting freely - it's not attached to anything and Julie seems to think that because my ovaries are so big that's why the left one sits so high .. she also found what they call a small embronic fibroid/cyst - which she removed ..

The fee's for our clinic have gone up - but I have to say after seeing their new clinic IT'S BEAUTIFUL ! .. so the new fee's for us are :

To reach the Safety Net - Medicare will take the 1st $ 1,000 off us ..

Standard IVF - $ 6,400
Medicare Rebate - $ 1,740.30
Safety Net Rebate - $ 3,727.75
Out of Pocket - $ 931.95 + $ 1,000.00 to reach the safety net = $ 1,931.95 OOP

ICSI - $ 500.00
Medicare Rebate - $ 330.10
Safety Net Rebate - $ 135.90
Out of Pocket - $ 34.00

Blastocyst Culture - $ 200.00
Out of Pocket - $ 200.00

Syneral - $ 110.00 per bottle
Out of Pocket - $ 110.00

Pregnyl - $ 20.00 per unit
Out of Pocket - $ 20.00 - $ 100.00

Crinone (Progesterone) - $ 12.00 per unit
Out of Pocket - depends on how many I use

So in total so far we're OOP $ 2,275.95 and that's not including the Pregnyl or Crinone .. but once we've done this initial cycle and hit the safety net we'll only be OOP $ 931.95 for a full stim + the extra's as listed above ..
