The long weekend over ...

Well the long weekend is behind us now and everyone is back to work including Peter .. I love having him home with me ... but the good thing is .. he's had 2 long weekends in a row and he's got another one coming up this weekend .. yayyyyyyy ..

We were supposed to be going to mum and brian's to have a CLEAN up day as they are selling the house to drive around australia in their motorhome .. but because I don't know if Nelson's funeral is Saturday or Sunday .. we'll have to go over in 3 weeks when Peter has another RDO ..

In the stuff we picked up yesterday .. I grabbed mum's exercise bike .. 4 klms I did yesterday .. I was quite proud of myself .. I did 2 klms at lunch time and antoher 2 klms before going to bed .. Peter said I'd be feeling quite stiff in the legs this morning .. but I don't feel too bad ..

I've got some more gardening to do .. brought home mum's old wheelbarrow so I'm going to fill that with soil and put in some nice plants that can only survive in full sun .. as our back yard get's mainly full sun ..

Optus are coming today also .. we're getting rid of Telstra .. they can go take a flying leap ! .. sick of paying high bills with them .. so we'll be paying $ 100 a month for the first 3 months and then dropping back to $ 89 a month - which gives us FREE local and STD calls, 7 GB of internet (which i more than enough for us) ... so that's a good deal .. as we're paying $ 62 a month with telstra just for the internet !

Been dreadfully hot over the weekend our air con's both up and down stairs have ran nearlly all weekend, but I don't mind because I pay $ 50 week to Origin energy ..

Well time to move off this butt of mine .. I must go weigh myself see if I've lost any weight ! .. wish me luck ........

Been a long couple of days ...

The start of another week .. geesh .. we're almost in February can you believe it ?

Lase week was a busy one for me .. gardening, shopping, re-financing the home loan, going to mum's to help clean and pack .. it just seems never ending ! and we are going back to mum's today to bring some more stuff back ..

I also have to pick up the beautiful teddy bear that all us girls from POSAA have organised for Sudipa and Glenn .. the support and contributions are growing by the day ! .. so far as of this morning we're at $ 220! how awesome is that ... these contributions are coming from people Sudipa and Glenn have never met (apart from me) ..

Kylie27 from the forum is hoping to be here for the funeral .. she will stay here with Peter and I .. it will be nice to finally meet, but horrible under such circumstances if you know what I mean ? ..

The teddy bear I ordered is called Frankie Fudge - and he's just beautiful .. I will post a picture once I've picked him up ..

Well better get moving it's already 7.30am and I've done nothing !

What a sad and emotional week ...

This week has been such an emotional roller coaster for me ..

My friend Sudipa and Glenn were happily awaiting the birth of their 1st baby - when tragically it all went wrong on Monday at a routine appointment when the Dr couldn't find a heartbeat or see any movement ..

Sudipa was admitted to hospital on Monday night and induced at 9pm .. 24 hours later a beautiful and perfect little boy they named Nelson Riley was born sleeping .. I am still struggling to come to terms with what has happend .. Sudipa was released from hospital yesterday afternoon .. I gave her a call and we chatted for a few minutes ..

Sudipa was 22 weeks and 5 days pregnant .. no-one can say for sure why this happened .. 1 thing is for sure I will be there to support them .. because they going to need all the love and support they can get ..

Rest in Peace - Nelson Riley - gone but NEVER forgotten ....

Well who could hardly believe the news on Wednesday at the untimely death of our beloved Heath Ledger .. I was in disbelief when I read a message through yahoo left by mum

"jode do you know an actor called Keith Ledger - he's aussie and they found him dead" .. of course mum stuffed up the name, but I knew straight away who she meant !

I was speechless .. such a great great loss .. I remember seeing him in "A Knights Tale" and thought wow .. he's brilliant ! fantastic ! .. his little girl Matlida .. only 2 years old .. she will never remember him .. but I'm sure Heath's family will keep his spirit alive ..

The 1 great thing that has really angered me this week is the media .. they all fight over "we got it first" .. who cares who got it first .. a man had just lost his life and all that mattered to them was ratings .. another that totally shocked me was one day Mel from Sunrise was in Australia .. the next bloody day she's sitting outside the apartment where Heath lost his life .. why ? .. just so she can say Channel 7 were the first news crew there ..

What about poor Heath's family .. if the rumor's are true that they heard about his death on the radio before the police had a chance to contact them - that's disgusting ! .. once again it's all down to ratings ...

It's any wonder I hardly watch any TV .. the first 10 minutes of the news is more than enough for me ..

Life is precious ....

I write in our blog this afternoon in total shock at some news that I received yesterday afternoon .. I am still struggling to come to grips with the reality of what has happened .. A close friend sent me an SMS late yesterday afternoon with sad news about her pregnancy ...

At the moment I have no idea how this happend .. all I know is what was said in the SMS .. I have spent most of the day crying on and off .. I am assuming and I am probably right that it will be quite a few days if not a week or maybe even 2 before I hear any news ..

I am hoping and praying that my friend and her husband are ok .. and that they will pull through this horrific ordeal .. please pray for the couple's recovery, mentally, spiritally and emotionally of their loss ..

Who said yard work was easy ?

Since yesterday we've been working in our back yard ... tomorrow (Monday) we get a delivery of 3 sleepers, some premium garden soil and some pebbles to make a walk way .. Today I brought a heap of plants to fill the new garden bed up along the fence under the palm trees .. we also finished the chook pen off .. and the girls loved every minute of getting under the tree's and scratching around !

We let the ducks out for a wander but the Drake keeps hassling the girls for favours .. if you know what I mean .... lol .. so the ducks were put back to bed .. they weren't impressed I can tell you ! .. Toby has been getting in the way all day .. he's such a sticky beak ! Kracker went for a wander around the yard .. and madam Izzy-Bea (see picture below taken about 1 yr ago) .. has been lounging on the back verandah all day .. she's petrified of Toby and won't come down stairs !

As for me .. well the natural form of Metformin is doing wonders for me ! .. I'm bouncing off the walls with so much energy .. even Peter is shocked .. and I'm not eating half of what I used too .. so that's even better .. I don't feel sick from it all .. not like the Metformin .. ewwwww .. I hate that bloody stuff ..

Peter went back to the Dr's today to get his blood pressure checked .. 140 on 100 .. so still high .. the Dr changed his tablets to a stronger one .. and we go back next Sunday to have it tested again .. his blood sugar is border line at 6.1 .. so he's off for a GTT .. lmfao .. HE'S NOT IMPRESSED ! .. so I told him when he has his done I'll get mine done too ..

I've been checking timber and such in the back yard after finding the "munchers' (termites) yesterday and so far so good .. only found them in 1 more piece of timber that was half burried in the gravel .. still not good news tho .. so I've called our Pest man and just waiting for him to call back ..

Mum has been very quiet today .. don't know what they've been up today .. lol .. I called her to let her know what Peter's BP was and haven't heard from her since .. I cooked crumbed steak and steamed veggies for lunch .. it was lovely .. tonight we'll just have toast ..

Well better get off here I suppose and have a shower .. night night all

What a day .....

What a BIG day we had yesterday .. here it is sunday morning at 5.18am and I'm absolutely exhausted ..

We got out of bed as per normal (well that's a stupid statement isn't it ? of course everyone get's out of bed) .. lol .. anyway Peter starts writing out his shopping list .. mind you his shopping list is what he has to get from Mitre 10 or Bunnings .. We prefer the Mitre 10 store down at Beenleigh because it's air conditioned .. where as Bunnings isn't ..

On his list was some weed matting .. you see in our back yard the idiot who owned the house before us put some timber sleepers in and built up a garden bed and filled it with mango and fruits trees .. and it's very hard to mow around because it's all nut grass .. so I said to Peter wouldn't we be better off putting a fence across there and letting the ducks and bantam chickens into there ?

Anyway that's what we decided .. because we could never keep that area clean .. always looked untidy .. so off to Mitre 10 go .. $ 250 later ! .. we get home and Phyliss has mowed the whole yard .. THANK YOU ! ..

Peter painted our front railings on the house .. we had it painted before christmas .. the painters did the top half .. we did the bottom half .. haven't finished yet .. it got too bloody hot ! .. so we painted the railings green .. got the steps and back verandah to do yet ..

Mum and Brian arrived - and the work began .. mum cooked us dinner - Chinese BBQ Pork with noodles .. oh god I've never tasted anything like it ! .. Brian helped Peter and I put the star pickets in and put the fencing up .. Brian also showed us a neat a little trick when it comes to using rolls of wire like that .. you put a rake up the middle and well-ah it rolls so easily !

Then the boys took all our potted plants from in there out .. because the ducks would have eaten them .. lol .. so now the backyard is starting too look good .. 1 thing we did find was TERMITES ! .. yes I'm not bloody joking .. Peter pulled Koko's cross out and the bottom was all eaten and full of termites .. and then we found some timber that we were using as a stand to keep a pot plant off the ground half eaten as well ..

So then I hit the panic button thinking oh my god they are going to eat my bird avairy ! because it's made from untreated pine .. but we checked all around the bottom and it was fine .. phew ! .. we've got them in front yard also .. but didn't think anything of it till now .. so now I have to get someone into check the house - and if we need doing - which we think we might it will cost upwards of $ 2,000 !

So here I sit this morning with every bone in my body aching .. lol .. and we have to finish the yard because there's pot plants all over the place ... so when Peter get's up around 9-ish we'll head back there to finish the work ... will have to take some pictures and post them !

Housework .. bah hum bug !

Who ever said a woman's work is never done was bloody RIGHT ! .. all I've done practically all day today is CLEAN ! .. arghhh .. I even went so far as to pull the air conditioner to pieces in the lounge room and clean the filters .. now that's bad ! .. I think it's the chromium (natural form of metformin) giving me energy .. not that that's bad or anything .. but man it sends ya to the loo .. so that's good .. altho the pain and cramps really hurt !

I tried to start cutting back today on what I eat .. so here's what I've had :

1 Orange
1 small pack of chicken twisties (out of the packs where you get 20 small pks)
2 guylian truffles (just so I could have my sugar fix)
1 salmon sandwich for lunch
some cheese and grape tomatoes cut up with a bit salt
2 slices of ham

For dinner tonight we're having sausages and steamed vegies ... yummmm .. I'm actually going to start having breakfast from tomorrow morning .. I never eat breakfast .. so tomorrow's the day .. cause if this FET cycle works .. I have to eat properly !

Tonight we're going to finish watching "The Guardian" .. ashame we had to stop it last night but oh well .. Peter will be home in about 1/2 an hour and I can't wait !!!!!!! .. I love when he's home with me ..

Anyway time to get the brocolli out and start cooking ..

Good Morning ........

Well good morning all !

Yesterday it rained on and off .. more off than anything .. and BLOODY HOT ! .. very very muggy indeed .. Well as you know I brought Green Tea and I can't stand it .. yuck ! .. so I won't be drinking that .. I've never drank tea or coffee before now I know why

We had pizza and chips for dinner last night .. I didn't feel like cooking after we got home from shopping .. then we sat down to watch "The Guardian" starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher .. when I first seen this movie advertised for the big screen my immediate thought was "nah, not my cup of tea" .. but Peter put it on on Foxtel on demand last night (we have an IQ box) and I've never enjoyed a movie sooooooooo much ! .. It's brilliant ! .. we didn't get to see all of it because Mum and Brian arrived (see below) .. so we'll finish tonight ..

So why were Mum and Brian here last night ? .. Well they travelled from Brisbane to Kempsey in NSW to buy a trailer for their motor home .. little did they know the guy had stuffed up on the measurements - mainly the height and when they got there it was TOO HIGH !!! .. so they came home empty handed .. Mum called me about 3-ish I think it was and said they were back at Ballina .. I told them to stay the night cause Brian was exhausted .. it's like 6-7 hours drive from Brisbane to Kempsey and to do it in 1 day .. geesh ..

Anyway she said no we won't stay over night we're only 4 hours from Brisbane .. and I said well stay the night here .. so they arrived at about 8.30pm .. totally exhausted .. they brought Red Rooster for dinner .. and headed to bed around 9.30pm .. it certainly was a long day for them .. but they took the laptop with their vodafone portable modem and got good signals all the way so that was even better !

They left this morning at 9am when Peter left for work .. they were heading back down to the Gold Coast about 40klms south of us to check out some more trailers ..

As for me .. well I am supposed to be housework .. lol .. oh well better get moving ..

Green Tea .... yuck !

Well I embarked on doing something today that normally I would never do .. now I don't drink tea or coffee .. yuck ! .. but I have read where Green Tea can help while TTC .. so when we went shopping tonight I brought a box of Green Tea .. brewed it up in the cup .. waited a few mins, grabbed a tea spoon and took a taste ........................

I think my little smilies say it all ......

I also brought some Chromium - it's a natural version of metformin .. and some Fish Oil .. on top of that I also take Elevit once a day ... so by the looks of it .. it won't be long before I rattle while I walk .............. lol

After all this time ...........

You know when you sit and think about it .. time really does get away .. I grew up in a small town in Central Queensland of about 5,000 people .. I went to school there both public and private .. It was in public school that I met a girl - a few months older than me who lived in the house 2 door's up .. our mum's became friends and so did we .. anyway as we all know we grow up and move away .. possibly never seeing our friends again .......................

That was until the other day when I got a message in a forum that I go into ....

I was gob smacked !!!! .. I couldn't believe it .. after about 15 years or more .. and it would have to be that long because my father passed away 14 years ago and I hadn't seen Megan .. We did see each other one day tho in Queen Street Mall when I was down here for college, but that's a long time ago and my father was still alive ........................

It's amazing how after all this time we end up going into the same forum together and don't even know .. that was until I put a picture in there of me and some friends .. so if it hadn't have been for my photo - Megan would never have known it was me .. and I would never have known it was her ..
I found this old school photo of us .. must have been about Grade 5 ? ... brings back old memories .......... I can still actually name almost all the girls by first and last name - but the boy's I'm struggling with .. lol .. what about you Megan ? .. maybe you can refresh my memory on some of them

OK so which 1 am I ?? which 1 is Megan ?? ... take a guess and leave a comment ... this should be fun !

another day down ....

Well folks another day is almost gone .. where did the hours go ? .. it's now 8.05pm .. geesh .. only feels like an hour a go I was getting out of bed ..

Peter went to work as per normal .. in March they change over to Logan Council - something that Peter is quite looking foward too .. he's hoping he can apply for another position within the Library and do something different ..

Koko spent most of the day on the bed as per normal .. Kracker was outside on the bbq chair and Izzy-bea and Toby spent most of the day on the back verandah .. it was really muggy today .. I even put the air con on .. it was too stifeing (sp ???) ...

I decided today to reopen my eBay store - this time with only DIY stuff .. I've got the wedding stationery business advertised on eBay - so far only lookers and no bidders .. oh well such is life .. I'll just keep listing it and see how I go ..

The rain up north has been fantastic ! .. altho the flood's are causing some major damage and problems .. Townsville's dam which was at only 10% is now full after only 2 days of rain ! .. Wished we could get that here .. Wivenhoe is at 17% .. there is a strong wind warning from Fiji from a TC .. so finger's crossed it head's this way and dumps some rain !

So far so good with the fertility treatment .. no problems as yet with Provera .. it's only the 2nd time I have taken it .. 1st time was back when I had my period for almost a month .. and the fertility specialist gave it to me to stop it .. Now I'm taking it to induce a period ... doesn't make sense does it ??? .. lol .. I am also going to look at baby aspirin this cycle as they say it helps improve the blood flow to the uterus .. I'm willing to give anything a go to get our little miracle/s ..

Well I guess I'll call it a night ........... I still have to put madam (izzy-bea) to bed and have a shower and wash my hair ..

Another bruise to add to my collection ....

Well I should have known this would happen again .. this blood test really hurt like all hell .. I couldn't even touch the spot till yesterday .. and now today this .................

The lady must have hit a nerve just under the skin .. boy oh boy .. still it's not as bad as the other bruise (see picture below in another post)

Well another day has passed and right now it's very muggy ... I just wished the weather would make up it's mind .. In 24 hours Townsville has had 300mm's and Prosperine just over 500mm's (I think, god I can't remember if that's what the TV said now ..lol)

OK .. so we've had dinner .. crumbed steak and steamed vegies .. yummmm .. followed up by Bread and Butter pudding - made by phyliss .. now I'm so bloated I can't move .. and feel like a beached whale !

So what brings me here tonight ... lol ... well I went to mum and Brian's yest to show them how to do their blog for when they pack up and travel around Aus ... apparently when I set the country I set it too Afghanistan .. rofl .. rofl .. rofl .. mum was NOT impressed !

Well day 1 of Provera down .. yayyyyyyy .. Koko is sound asleep somewhere in the house, Kracker is out the back, Izzy-Bea is in bed ... Peter is in bed too ... hmmmmmm ... might go wake him up ;) ...

I started Provera this morning 1 twice a day for 10 days .. after that wait for AF then start Progynova ... I can't believe that after almost 4 months we're back into fertility treatment ..

OK .. well I don't know how many BT's I've had in the past 3 years .. but today I had another 1 .. this was to check my LH, EST and P4 levels .. The results should be in this afternoon .. I'm 100% certain that this FET cycle will go ahead ..

anyhoo will post the results later today .......... have a good one :)

The Journey Begins ...

Well today is D-Day ! ... I go get my BT done to check my LH, EST and P4 levels .. if all is OK which I suspect it will be - I will start Provera for 10 days .. wait for AF .. then on CD 3 start Progynova for 10 - 14 days .. during that time I will have 2 internal scan's to check my uterine lining .. and ET (egg transfer) will probably be around the middle of Feb I am guessing ..

Our Dr has decided to thaw out all 9 embryo's in the hope of getting some really good Day 5 embies .. so finger's crossed .. because if this doesn't work .. we'll have to do another full stimulated cycle ..

they find it very difficult to get blood from me and this morning probably won't be any different !

Peter also has his BT done this morning to check for various things after having his BP done yesterday at 150 on 105 - the 150 is ok .. but the 105 is high .. Dr gave him some different tablets to take with his current BP tablets ..

On the 26th July 2007 a chain of events unfolded and Peter was just about ready to kill me !

Peter and I headed into Brisbane city for a bit of fun and history .. We ended up at an old church that Peter had read about near Sunscorp Stadium .. Peter wanted to go there because of a headstone that appeared to have an image of the Grim Reaper ..

If you look closely enough you can see something that resembles it ..

We continued our walk around the lush grounds and took some pictures of the church itself .. unbeknown to us we had captured something that sent a shiver down my spine when we downloaded the pictures when we got home !

Upon seeing the image - over the weekend I thought what the hell "I'll send it on into Brisbane Extra" .. not thinking they would want to interview us .. OMG .. a few days later the phone rang - it was THEM !!! .. Brisbane Extra wanted to come to our house and do an interview .. Peter was not impressed and NOT happy at all ! .. in fact I think if he could have crawled into a hole and never came out - then he would have !

The story went off without a hitch .. we had lights, cameras and microphone's all over the house .. it certainly was something we'll never forget .. we still laugh about it to this day .. I mean "us" on TV .. rofl ...... who would have ever thought it .. I know 1 thing is for sure ..

Peter doesn't trust me any more ... hmmmmm I wonder why ?? ... lol ..

Today has been a pretty normal day for us .. altho I woke up feeling rather dizzy and lightheaded .. seems to be ok .. but I've got a touch of a headache ..

Started the morning off with a visit to the Dr's to get Peter's BP checked - 150 over 105 .. so Dr has ordered some blood tests and given him a different lot of BP tablets to help bring it down .. he goes back next Sunday for antoher check ..

We went to Big W picked up a shredder and brought some MORE ( lol ) DVD's

We also went to the produce place and brought some laying mash for the girls (my 5 bantam chickens) and the 4 ducks ..

Peter is busy in the kitchen - we've been going through old files and shreddings ones that are over 1 year old .. he pops into the computer from time to time with bits and pieces .. Koko is sound asleep somewhere .. Kracker is lounging around on the back verandah .. and Izzy bea is not impressed because since moving into this house she is NOT allowed inside ..

Mum and Brian called in yesterday to pick up some laptop speakers I picked up for them from Woolworths - a real bargain at $ 9.95 a pair .. and they work really well too ! ..

Brought some new beds - after the fiasco on christmas eve, we said we weren't going through that again .. basically Peter and I slept in the lounge room on the floor on an air bed that kept going down .. so every 1 1/2 hrs we were up blowing it up .. then at midnight I thought someone was trying to break into the house - only to find Peter was already down stairs checking it out .. turns out it was the neighbours dog's !

It's been dreadfully hot here the past fews and our air con in the lounge has been running for 24 hours straight .. we even slept with the 1 on in the bedroom ..

2008 - a new year - new hope ...

Well 2007 has been and gone ... where did the time go ?? .. most of our time was taken up with moving, settling into the new house and IVF .. sadly IVF didn't go as well as we expected it and this year we will embark on our 3rd year of fertility treatment .. we will endeavour to keep a journal of what's happening whether it be good or bad news ..

So this is it .. welcome to 2008 .. a new year - new hope !
